A New Kind of Partnership

A grant from the Walton Family Foundation allowed us to begin operations in Texas in 2017. We have since built relationships with the Texas Charter School Association and The Network to provide charter school support.

Building Hope’s Texas operations are anchored by our Texas Charter Support Unit. Whereas the CSU concentrates in other regions on providing administrative and accounting services, the Texas CSU allows charter school operators and stakeholders to access the full range of Building Hope’s services in the region. The Texas CSU’s main goal is to assess the needs of both the Texas charter landscape(s) and of each of our partner schools to determine what kind of assistance we can provide.

Regional Highlights

Our projects in Texas and the Southwest include:

  • Charter Landscape Assessments: We provide a basic overview and understanding of the charter school sectors in Texas’s cities, helping you determine how your school fits into the educational landscape and stakeholders’ priorities.
  • Launch Year/Emerging School Support: Building Hope provides technical consultation to assist both newly launched and existing schools (of less than two years).
  • Facilities Planning: We offer guidance to schools planning for a permanent location, whether building a new facility or acquiring an existing one, using our knowledge of the state and its charter school markets to provide personalized assistance with the process.
  • Long-Term Financial Planning: We serve as a bridge solution to charter schools that are growing toward accessing the bond market, especially in gaining eligibility for the Texas Permanent School Fund.

EXPERienced partnership

School administrators are focused on educating students, and are not real estate or construction experts. Building Hope provides schools with facilities planning expertise to make the process easy and beneficial for their partners.
