STUDENT EMPOWERMENT GRANTS

GENERAL CRITERIA:

 

  1. IMPACT: Are there measurable results? Is the IMPACT diverse and deep?
  2. PROGRAM: Is the program inclusive, effective, and focused.
  3. LEADERSHIP: Can the leader articulate the need and impact of the effort? Is the leader a model of integrity and commitment?
  4. SUPPORT: Is there third-party research, votes, and testimonial support for the effort from a variety of sources (including students)?

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

 

Charter Schools who excel in giving students the tools they need to create their own futures are candidates for this grant. Not only the “book learning” knowledge and academics, but also the necessary executive functioning and practical skills that will be most helpful for them to succeed.

The ideal Student Empowerment IMPACT school will be dedicated to fostering each student’s path to success and have a host of student-provided success stories to share.

  • Promote the uniqueness of each student
  • Foster a climate of student achievement for all students
  • Demonstrate a high-level of academic success is and a clear pattern of student academic growth
  • Provide a variety of direct testimonials from students, statistical metrics of achievement, and detailed examples of individual student empowerment
  • Give students a voice in their educational path, personal growth and the future of the school
  • Create opportunities for students to lead and engage in meaningful participation in the school and community
