Charter School Facility Development

Having worked hand in hand with hundreds of charter schools over the years, we are experts in every aspect of delivering a state-of-the-art educational facility. Our development approach is based on communication, collaboration and transparency. As a nonprofit, we offer the following solutions for charter schools with facility needs at below-market rates:

Turnkey Facility Development

We provide public charter schools with custom-built facility solutions for both new construction and renovations. We manage all phases of the development process, including but not limited to:

  • Strategic visioning
  • Site identification and procurement
  • Project financing
  • Design, pre-development and construction management

Upon completion of a building, we will lease the facility to the charter school for significantly less than the going commercial rate. Each lease contains a purchase option, and we work with our charter schools to identify optimal financing—such as tax exempt bonds and New Markets Tax Credits—for them to purchase their facilities.

Project Management

Our team can work with schools at any point in the process. Schools have hired us during initial planning when they are not sure where to begin, after purchasing a site, and at the completion of the design phase. We have also worked strictly as intermediaries, keeping the lines of communication open between a school and the builder so that administrators can stay focused on implementing education programs instead of attempting a crash course in the construction industry.

Free Technical Assistance

Whether or not we are involved in the design and build of a project, we are available as needed to help schools navigate a difficult aspect of the design or build process.

With each new charter school project, we begin by immersing ourselves in the school’s vision, mission, academic philosophy, culture, academics, leadership, financial resources and academic and project objectives. This attention to detail lets us be the best advocates for the schools we represent.
