Facility Development: Project Management

Washington Latin Public Charter School (Washington Latin) was founded in 2006 with the single goal of providing a rigorous, classical education to public school middle and high school students from across the District of Columbia.

Spread out between three facilities, Washington Latin faced a growing need to expand and consolidate its middle and upper schools on to one campus.

In August 2012, Building Hope assisted Washington Latin in identifying a facility, assembling a design and construction team for the 67,000 square foot renovation and addition project, and securing the financing for the $23 million improvement project.

In addition, Building Hope was able to identify $17 million in New Markets Tax Credits from the 2012 allocation to support the financing of the project.

Washington Latin now provides its academics on one campus to 645 elementary, middle and high school students.
