Facility Development: Project Management

Washington Global Public Charter School (WGPCS) leadership felt there was a need for a school that offers students in Washington, D.C. a rigorous international curriculum that fosters students’ global competiveness.

WGPCS received its charter in May 2014.  Building Hope provided preliminary no-cost technical assistance to help WGPCS identify a permanent facility to get the school’s doors open for the 2015-16 school year.

Building Hope also served as the Project Manager for WGPCS, leading the building acquisition, design and construction; and securing below-market project financing to ensure an on time and under budget delivery of the facility.

Washington Global Public Charter School opened its doors for the 2015-16 school year with 110 students in sixth and seventh grade.
