Connor Academy Charter School began operation in 2006 to serve 275 students in Kindergarten through eighth grade a solid academic foundation and encourage parental involvement in charter development.

By the end of the 2014-2015 school year, the charter school had long outgrown its leased space.  In partnership with the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Family Foundation, Building Hope secured financing, including a $2.26 million direct loan, to build a new, $6.4 million facility a few miles away.

In August 2015, Connor Academy Charter School welcomed 480 students in Kindergarten through eighth grade to its new 50,000 square feet facility.

Joel Lovstedt, the Principal for Connor Academy, says Building Hope encouraged him to dream big, asking if the original design plans were sufficient. The result, he says, is “a model school, a jewel.”
