Turnkey Facility Development

Athenian Academy Charter School (Athenian), a well-established, high performing Florida Public Charter School, opened its doors in 2000 to provide educational choice for parents of students in Kindergarten through eighth grade in Pinellas County.

The school was seeking to expand access to its highly rated charter school program and needed additional space to do so.

Athenian identified a property that would require converting an existing, former church building to educational and assembly space; and constructing a new, connected 30,000 square foot, two story building.

Building Hope served as equity investor and developer on the project. Specifically, Building Hope purchased and developed the property contracting directly with LAI Construction Management to be the design/builder and general contractor of the project.

The 40,000 square foot school facility opened in September 2015, serving 300 students in Kindergarten through eighth grade.
